I first heard of you, Chris, shortly after I started the @Pleasantville Twitter account in late March, 2009. I was searching for interesting local tidbits to post on that account, and a Google news search turned up a guy in Chappaqua, NY who had taken a rather unorthodox approach to trying to find a job -- launching a site called FacebookShouldHireMe.com. That was one of @Pleasantville 's first updates. I realized pretty quickly that you had a complete understanding of how social media works, and I've been following your progress (and learning plenty) ever since. I recommend the ChristopherDessi.com blog frequently -- and hope that some day you have the time to revisit the DadzillaTV.com blog you started.
Keep up the good work!

Facebook is Jewish Geiography for the masses.

I guess www.jewishgeogrphy.com might not have been as popular

Chris this is a great post! Gary is so awe inspiring! I'm waiting for the book coming to the UK so that I can read it and learn as much as I can.

I only stumbled across Gary's work in the past few week but I'm well hooked.

Great that you're Crushing it too now!

Great piece Chris, inspirational stuff. There are so many people that are currently in exactly the same position as you were, but perhaps without the drive and energy to make change happen. I guess your 'meathead' sales guy training probably came in quite handy here?? Persistence, determination, audacity - qualities which you've applied to great success in breaking into the social media space. We in the UK are some way behind you fellas in the States - what you did then is a beacon for what can be achieved for guys over here. I'll be tweeting this article around. Keep up the great work.

Great story and congratulations. I'm not sure many people would have persisted like that. I can relate with the terminations as well. I was fortunate enough to find another job right away (albeit 1500 miles from my family). As I continue work 1500 miles from my family (wife and three girls) I've begun to plan out a way to both crush it and get myself back with them. It's not going to happen overnight but your story makes for great inspiration. Thanks.
