Last week a friend and colleague closed a huge piece of business that we were both very excited about. Upon sharing the news with me, I immediately said “you need to reward yourself.” After twelve years in sales I’ve learned to do something small for myself after closing deals. She agreed, but mentioned she’d have to wait until her commission check came through in order to pay for her reward which she’d already picked out. In order to expedite her reward giving process I showed up the next morning (yesterday) with an ice cold bottle of Champagne and a congratulatory note attached. This one felt great to give. She was super appreciative. Starting to enjoy this whole “gift giving” thing
