The 64 day Challenge: Gift #52 Given on February 25th

by Chris Dessi on March 1, 2010

Today I was honored to speak at The Fashion Group International event held at the Canadian Consulate.  Upon arriving at the event we were held in the lobby because due to inclement weather they were running late and the cameras/food had not been set up in time.  As coordinators scampered to set up the venue, the security guard (no older than 22) was left to deal with cranky New Yorkers that had schlepped through a snow storm to attend the event only to be held up in the lobby. The young man was calm cool and collected.  He handled himself beautifully.  The group was subsequently let in and the event was fantastic. As I was leaving I spotted him standing alone in the lobby nibbling on some left over hors devours from the event.   I went up to him, extended my hand and told him I thought he did a phenomenal job. He responded saying “nah, man I have to do that all the time” to which I replied “no way, you handled this great…it could have been a scene”…he thanked me again and said “ I really appreciate it man”..
