The 64 day Challenge: Gift #30 Given on February 3rd

Yesterday my intended gift had originally been reserved for a street performer.  Today I was given the opportunity to give a $10 gift to Nicola – pictured here.  Nicola had a huge crowd around her while she belted out some amazing tunes.  She’s blessed with amazing guitar ability , killer pipes, and just a general vibe of awesomeness.  I have a soft spot for female singer song writers so this gift was easy. My guess is Nicola won’t be playing underground very long. I hope my $10 donation to her til helped just a little bit.

    Chris-
I get so stoked following your path online. I am listening to “Crush It,” as I write this. Found it through you, and downloaded via Audible.com today.

My music school is three years old this month. Our goal is to create the most useful music education blog on the internet, creating value for anyone seeking to learn to play. I’m sure it will drive lots of awareness to our school, as well.

Having played for a number of years in the subways of Boston (our band name porterdavis comes from our two favorite T stations to play in), I’m sure Nicola was thrilled with the 10 spot you dropped for her.

    Keep it up, Brajole!

While I am sure Nicola was thrilled with the $10 – who wouldn’t be – you might be interested to know that the musicians in the NYC subway are mostly not poor, or homeless or even looking to get out of the subway. Many of them have great carriers above ground, but choose to also play in the subway for the fun of it or for the exposure. I know this from following a blog of one of these subway musicians – http://www.sawlady.com/blog – there is lots of info and photos of the different musicians so you can recognize the ones you’ve seen.
