This afternoon my wife threw me a wonderful Birthday Party.

Almost a half a century ago, the Woman’s Association of St. John and St. Mary (my parish) started sponsoring programs that have been supporting the spiritual, social and financial demands of our parish.
Today I donated $20 to the Woman’s Association of The Church of St. John and St. Mary 49th Annual Fund raising Drive

Today’s gift is very special.  After everything that our family experienced regarding my father’s misdiagnosis with ALS we were a bit ill prepared for his heart surgery which came only weeks afterward.  Dad’s surgery went very well, however it was certainly a reality check for the whole family.  We were blessed to have world class [...]

Each day after I work out I buy lunch from the “juice bar” at Equinox in the Time Warner Center.  Last week I reached into my wallet to pay for my sandwich and stuck in between two bills I accidentally handed the cashier a very large check that had been issued to me via my [...]

Today’s gift was for my daughter Talia. When I was a little boy my mother used to leave little notes in my lunch box.  That ruled.  I remember how those notes made me smile and helped me get through my day (the tough day of a elementary school kid)… Those notes helped to inspire my gift today which consisted of [...]

The 64 day Challenge: Gift #32 Given on February 5th

by Chris DessiFebruary 8, 2010

Today surprised me.  Not only did I give my gift – I actually ended up giving TWO gifts!  On my way home from work I spotted another great street show that I offered $20.  They were certainly good, and certainly appreciative as one gentleman broke from what he was singing as said “THANKS!” …so that [...]

We’ve been living in Chappaqua, New York for almost two years now.  Since the moment we moved in we fell in love with the town, as well as the people.  It’s proven to be a wonderful home to our daughter and since our home is in close proximity to the downtown area we’ve become friendly [...]

Yesterday my intended gift had originally been reserved for a street performer.  Today I was given the opportunity to give a $10 gift to Nicola – pictured here.  Nicola had a huge crowd around her while she belted out some amazing tunes.  She’s blessed with amazing guitar ability , killer pipes, and just a general [...]
